Part-time ⅝ Technical Officer

Duties:
• Assessing, planning and co-ordinating several practical courses, including the honours course in Techniques, in collaboration with an academic staff member;
• Practical preparations for laboratory work of the above-mentioned courses (media, solutions, cultures, etc.);
• Providing general departmental technical support;
• Supervising the maintenance of scientific equipment and infrastructure;
• Assisting in obtaining information for the purchase of equipment and consumables.

• A four-year scientific qualification and/or equivalent relevant experience in Microbiology or a related discipline;
• The ability to work independently;
• Good planning and time management skills;
• Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

Recommendation: Laboratory training and experience in molecular techniques.
